Somerdale, New Jersey
Beer brewed with oysters. The creamy flavor of English chocolate and roasted malts harmonizes with a perceived dryness from the oysters. Irish ale yeast adds a bit of fruitiness and crispness.
The nose on this beer is pretty beefy with plenty of bitter coffee, subtle milk chocolate, malts and an interesting brininess like being at the beach (sea salt in the air).
Seriously though, this is a tasty beer. It’s smooth and creamy up front with a dry, crisp finish. There is plenty of coffee bitterness, semi-sweet chocolate and a light touch of that oyster brininess I got in the nose. There isn’t a much of a hint of the 7% ABV so this one is quite drinkable.
